Snow-Kissed Kashmir Captivates UAE Influencer, Heartfelt Tribute Goes Viral

UAE influencer Khalid Al Ameri praises Kashmir’s winter beauty, culture and calm, boosting tourism buzz

Srinagar, Jan 29: UAE based social media influencer Khalid Al Ameri has shared an emotional tribute to Kashmir after experiencing the Valley in the peak of winter, describing it as a “snowy paradise beyond imagination.” Captivated by snow-covered mountains, frozen landscapes and warm local hospitality, Al Ameri’s posts have drawn widespread attention across social media platforms.

The 42-year-old Stanford graduate, followed by nearly 18 million users worldwide, has been exploring Kashmir for the past four days during the closing phase of Chillai Kalan  the Valley’s harshest winter spell. Popular tourist destinations such as Gulmarg and Pahalgam remain blanketed in fresh snow, creating postcard perfect scenes.

Al Ameri documented his journey through videos showing a traditional shikara ride on Dal Lake while wearing a pheran, and even a playful “snow bath” in Gulmarg, where temperatures have hovered near freezing due to heavy snowfall. Reflecting on the short travel time from Dubai, he remarked that Kashmir feels like a world away in beauty and tranquillity.

Beyond the landscapes, the influencer highlighted the cultural depth of the region. He noted that Kashmir’s real charm lies not just in its scenery, but in traditions that continue to thrive through daily life, patience and pride. The warmth and simplicity of the people, he said, left a lasting impression.

Al Ameri also spoke of the Valley’s calm rhythm, describing it as a place that encourages reflection and clarity. He suggested that Kashmir offers more than visual splendour  it provides space to slow down, think clearly and reconnect with oneself.

Tourism officials say such global exposure comes at a crucial time, as the sector in Jammu and Kashmir begins to recover from last year’s security concerns and weather-related disruptions. With improving conditions and rising visitor interest, the government is reassessing tourism strategies to ensure sustainable growth in the region.
