Johannesburg, Dec 21: At least 10 people were killed and around 10 others injured in a shooting incident near Johannesburg, South African police said on Sunday.
According to reports by Agence France-Presse (AFP), an unidentified gunman opened fire in a village on the outskirts of the city, triggering panic among residents. Emergency services and law enforcement agencies rushed to the scene, where multiple victims were found suffering from gunshot wounds.
The injured were immediately shifted to nearby hospitals, while the area was cordoned off to facilitate investigations.
Police said a probe has been launched to establish the motive behind the attack and to identify the perpetrator. No arrests have been made so far, and further details are awaited as the investigation continues.
