NEW DELHI, Sep 7: The Delhi Police has issued a lookout notice against Hari Ram, owner of the five-storey building that collapsed in Satya Niketan, killing six people, official sources said on Monday.
The notice was issued as police intensified efforts to locate those allegedly responsible for the building collapse, the sources said.
Earlier, the police registered a case against Hari Ram and others at the South Campus Police Station under charges related to culpable homicide, negligence in maintaining a structure and endangering the safety of others.
Rescue operations continued for the second day on Monday, with 11 people so far pulled out alive from the debris.
The building, which housed a boys’ paying guest accommodation near Delhi University’s South Campus, collapsed at around 1:30 pm on Sunday while repair work was reportedly in progress.
The incident has prompted a police investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collapse, including the safety measures followed during the repair work and the responsibility of those involved in maintaining the structure.
