Suchiter Sharma and 4 more from J&K clears UPSC Civil Services exam

26-09-2021 : A Jammu boy, Suchiter Sharma at the age of just 22, has cracked the civil services exam, the result of which was declared by the Union Public Service Commission. His parents are both teachers and hailing from border village, Salehar in Bishnah Tehsil of Jammu district, Suchiter secured 146, All India Rank.

He did his graduation from GGM Science College, Jammu with main subjects- Botany, Zoology, and Geology, securing 86 % marks during 2020, and schooling from Army School, Rattnuchak with 94.8 % marks in 12th.

 Suchiter source of inspiration was his cousin sister, Praysi Sharma who had qualified for IAS in 2014 and credit his parents as guiding force and main support to him during his studies.   He obtained coaching from a local IAS Academy in the Gandhi Nagar area of Jammu but mainly relied only on self-study.

Four more youngsters from J&K, including a  girl, have cracked the exam. Two youngsters who have been working hard for the last several years from the Kupwara and Anantnag districts of Kashmir have finally been able to crack the UPSC Civil Services Exam.

Iqbal Rasool Dar from Jaggarpora area of district Kupwara has qualified for the exam by securing All India Rank 611 while Waseem Ahmad Bhat from Duroo Anantnag has also cracked the exam by taking All India Rank 225.

Shivia Hangloo, a Kashmiri Pandit girl cracked Civil Services Exam, second time. Last year she got selected in Indian Information Services but she continued her hard work and achieved All India Rank 261 this year.

Amir Bashir, son of Late Mohd Bashir, resident of Salwah in Mendhar (Poonch), at present Bathindi in Jammu, also cleared the exam with All India Rank, 625.
He is presently working as Assistant Commissioner, Income Tax at Jammu, and had cleared exam during 2017 with a Rank of 842. He made his first attempt during 2015 and then second during 2016, but continued his struggle for a better ranking. Her sister Rehana Bashir is also an IAS officer posted in West Bengal. She had qualified in 2008.
