Mumbai, Nov 11: Amid rumours about the demise of veteran actor Dharmendra, his son Sunny Deol’s team has issued an official clarification, confirming that the legendary star is stable and under medical observation.
In a statement, the team said, “Mr. Dharmendra is stable and under observation. Further comments and updates will be shared as available. Kindly don’t indulge in spreading false rumours regarding his health. We request everyone to pray for his speedy recovery and respect the family’s right to privacy.”
The 88-year-old actor, who was reportedly put on a ventilator due to breathing difficulties, continues to receive treatment at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital. His sons, actors Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, were spotted visiting him on Monday evening.
Several Bollywood stars, including Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, also visited the hospital to check on the veteran actor’s health. Shah Rukh Khan arrived with his son Aryan, while Salman was seen entering with heavy security.
Born in 1935 in Punjab, Dharmendra is one of Indian cinema’s most beloved and enduring stars. His career began after winning a Filmfare talent hunt in 1958, which paved the way for his entry into Bollywood. Known for his versatility and charm, Dharmendra delivered memorable performances across genres—from his breakthrough role in Phool Aur Patthar to his iconic turn as Veeru in Sholay, and his comic brilliance in Chupke Chupke.
Over the decades, Dharmendra has remained a symbol of grace, humility, and charisma, earning affection from audiences and peers alike.
