India, Nov 15 : Teen cricket prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi 32 ball century lit up Doha on Friday as the 14 year old left hander produced a jaw dropping 144 off just 42 balls, powering India A to a massive 148-run victory over UAE in their Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025 opener.
Suryavanshi’s whirlwind innings, packed with 11 fours and 15 sixes, propelled India A to 297 for 4, the joint fifth-highest total in men’s T20 cricket. His strike rate of 342.85 is now the fourth-highest ever for a T20 score of 100 or more.
The teenager reached his century in 32 balls, the joint-second fastest by an Indian in men’s T20s, equalling Rishabh Pant’s 2018 feat and only behind the 28-ball tons by Urvil Patel and Abhishek Sharma. It also stands as the joint-fifth fastest century in global T20 cricket history.
At 14 years and 232 days, Suryavanshi became the youngest male cricketer to score a century for a national representative side, breaking Mushfiqur Rahim’s 2005 record.
This was the youngster’s second T20 hundred, following his 35-ball century for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2025 a knock that made him the youngest man to hit a T20 ton and the second-fastest centurion in IPL history.
Suryavanshi’s innings began on a lucky note, as he was dropped off his first ball, but the reprieve only fueled his assault. He raced to a 17-ball fifty and then dominated a 163-run stand off 57 balls with Naman Dhir (34), taking India A from a steady start to complete command.
Skipper Jitesh Sharma maintained the charge after Suryavanshi’s dismissal, hammering 83 off 32 balls*, pushing India A close to the rare 300-run mark, before they finished tied with India’s own 297 against Bangladesh in 2024.
Chasing 298, UAE faltered early and never recovered. Only Sohaib Khan (63 off 41) showed resistance as India A’s bowlers tightened the grip, led by Gurjapneet Singh (3/18). UAE managed just 149 for 7, conceding a commanding 148-run win.
