Human civilization is creating and using a variety of technology to assist daily activities. Technology adoption is low and has negative consequences on both the environment and human civilization. Therefore, there is room for the implementation of new, environmentally and ecologically friendly technology to support current lifestyles’ daily activities. However, thanks to greater knowledge and recent advancements in the field of energy management research, new solutions are more effective and environmentally benign. These innovations are referred to as “green” or “clean” technologies. Energy conservation, recycling, concerns for public health and safety, renewable resources, and many other issues are all part of green technology. A broad term used to describe the application of science and technology to the development of environmentally friendly goods and services is “green technology.” Green technology is associated with “Clean Tech,” which refers to goods and services that enhance operating efficiency while lowering prices, energy use, waste, or unfavourable environmental effects. The phrase “green technology” (GT) refers to a wide range of new, creative approaches to protect the environment and natural resources. It serves as a substitute for fossil fuels and shows less harm to the health of people, animals, and plants, as well as less harmful to the environment. The quantity of waste and pollution produced during manufacturing and consumption is intended to be reduced by the use of green technology. It also includes clean technology and environmental technology. Environmental protection, environmental restoration, and resource conservation are the three main objectives of green technology. A booming business that has drawn significant sums of financial capital is green technology. The term refers to a broad category that includes several types of environmental restoration. These days, one of the most important global challenges is thought to be climate change and carbon emissions. Numerous initiatives are being made to address regional environmental risks. Some people work to safeguard certain ecosystems for threatened species. Others look for more sustainable options to conserve the limited natural resources. Businesses are attempting to create new sources of energy that do not contribute to atmospheric carbon in order to offer a practical substitute for fossil fuels. These days, one of the least expansive sources of energy is solar and wind power. Tidal energy and geothermal energy are two possibilities that have not yet been widely used. Transport-related activities are responsible for almost one-third of all global greenhouse gas emissions, according to the Environmental Protection Agency. In order to lower automobile emissions, many manufacturers are looking into switching to electrical power or designing more fuel-efficient engines. The fossil fuel business has actively pushed this technology, but it hasn’t yet lived up to expectations. In comparison to annual emissions, the greatest carbon capture system can only hold 4,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide annually. Despite being a vast and difficult-to-define category, several forms of green technology have seen widespread adoption. A number of nations have initiated campaigns to ban single-use plastics, a goal that would necessitate a significant investment in substitutes like paper alternatives, bioplastics, or recycling technologies.

The other significant markets for green technology in India include electric vehicles, water treatment, and waste-water treatment. With around 96.91% of the market’s total sales volume in 2021, electric two-wheelers were the most popular category of electric vehicles in India. Due to the gradual acceptance of electric vehicles for public transportation, electric four-wheelers have gained popularity. In addition, the market for electric four-wheelers is anticipated to rise due to the rising popularity of hybrid E-cars. The short- and long-term effects of items on the environment are addressed through green technology. Resources are becoming more scarce while demand is rising, necessitating a balance in order to build a sustainable future. Green technologies will help the globe achieve sustainability and make the environment cleaner and safer for everyone.
