UDHAMPUR, FEBRUARY-16:- An awareness cum Distribution camp was today organized by the Social Welfare Department Udhampur in collaboration with Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), here at Panchayat Battal and Dehari.
Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Ramnagar, Naresh Kumar, and BDC Chairman Ramnagar, Des Raj were present at Dehari Ramnagar.
During the camp, awareness was generated among the public regarding various welfare schemes being implemented by the department, namely Integrated social security pension scheme, National social assistance programme, Rehabilitation council for the victims of militancy, Prosthetic Aid, Homes for the destitute and orphans, Construction programme, Pre and Post matric scholarship scheme, Training programme SMAS (Sate Marriage Assistant Scheme), Grant in Aid to NGO’s, Pension for persons with a disability, Pension for transgender, NSAP (National Social Assistant Program) and ISSS (Integrated Social Security Scheme).
In the camp, around 67 different Assistive Devices such as Wheel Chairs, Hearing Machines, Crutches, Clippers, Tricycle, CP Chairs, and Sticks were distributed among the Specially Abled persons by ALIMCO at Panchayat Battal and Dehari.
Among others, BDCs of adjoining blocks, PRIs, and the general public were present on the occasion.
