Tamil Nadu CM Stalin Urges DMK IT Wing Cadre to Take Proactive Action Against Attacks

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister emphasizes proactive digital engagement ahead of Assembly elections

Tamil Nadu, Feb 21 :  Chief Minister and DMK president MK Stalin on Friday called on the party’s IT wing functionaries to stay vigilant against misinformation campaigns and actively promote the party’s political agenda online.

Stalin highlighted attempts by rival parties to sow discord among allies and friendly groups, describing fake news as a major challenge. He accused right-wing networks of operating multiple fake social media accounts to spread misleading information, warning the cadre against falling prey to such tactics.

Addressing the functionaries, Stalin stressed that trending hashtags alone are insufficient. “The goal is to set the agenda, not just react defensively,” he said. He added that the DMK’s digital agents, deployed down to the booth level, serve as the party’s “firewall” in protecting its legacy and preparing for the upcoming Assembly elections, which he expressed confidence would result in another decisive victory.

The Chief Minister urged IT wing members to communicate the party’s policies clearly online, turning digital engagement into a proactive tool rather than merely a defensive response to opponents.
