CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Wednesday stepped up his criticism of AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami and Union Home Minister Amit Shah during an election rally in Trichy, while deliberately avoiding any mention of TVK president Vijay.
Despite Vijay contesting from the Trichy East constituency, Stalin chose not to respond to his presence or remarks, maintaining a similar stance during his campaign stop in Karur. Instead, the DMK chief focused his attack on Palaniswami, branding him a “complete sanghi” and accusing him of aligning with BJP ideologies.
Meanwhile, Vijay intensified his criticism of the ruling DMK government. In a formal communication to the Election Commission of India, the TVK leader alleged that his campaign was not being provided sufficient police protection, claiming interference from the state administration.
Adding to the controversy, TVK general secretary Aadhav Arjuna expressed serious concerns, stating that Vijay faces potential threats from political opponents, further escalating the political atmosphere in the state.
