Tanvir Sadiq Flags Alleged Bias Against Jammu, Demands Inquiry into MP Fund Usage

Sadiq Accuses BJP of Ignoring Jammu, Calls for Probe into MP Fund Spending

Jammu, Feb 18: Zadibal MLA Tanvir Sadiq on Wednesday alleged discrimination against Jammu and sought an inquiry into the utilisation of funds by a Member of Parliament representing the region.

Addressing reporters outside the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Sadiq claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party had failed to safeguard the interests of people in Jammu. He referred to the party’s assertion that nominating a tribal leader to Parliament ensured representation for Poonch and Rajouri, but alleged that financial allocations meant for the region were diverted to Uttar Pradesh.

He questioned the justification for spending resources outside Jammu and Kashmir, noting that Uttar Pradesh already has substantial parliamentary representation. According to him, development funds should directly benefit the constituencies they are designated for.

Sadiq also alleged that the allocations were routed through select companies and demanded a comprehensive investigation to ensure transparency and accountability in the use of public money.
