12-06-2023 : In a distressing incident, a Tata Sumo vehicle carrying passengers met with an accident in Mendhar, Poonch district, resulting in injuries to eleven individuals. The vehicle, with the registration number JK12 3051, skidded off the road and plunged into the Gursai nallah, a rivulet. The immediate aftermath saw the injured passengers being promptly rescued from the accident site and transported to the Government DH Mendhar for medical attention.
Upon contacting BMO Mendhar, Dr. Ashfaq Ahmad revealed that a few of the injured individuals have been referred to GMC Rajouri for specialized treatment. The severity of their injuries necessitated the need for preferential care at a higher medical facility.
In response to the incident, the local police have registered an FIR (First Information Report) under the section 279/337 IPC (Indian Penal Code). This will facilitate further investigations into the circumstances surrounding the accident, ensuring a thorough examination of the incident.
