On November 4,2023: A daring terrorist attack targeted the Mianwali Training Air Base in Pakistan’s Punjab province, only to be thwarted by the swift and effective response of Pakistan’s Army. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has confirmed that three attackers were neutralized while attempting to infiltrate the base, with the remaining three terrorists currently cornered. This successful defense by the troops safeguarded personnel and assets, though it resulted in some damage to three aircraft already grounded and a fuel bowser.
In a press release issued by the Pakistan ISPR, it was revealed that the attackers initiated their assault during the early hours of November 4. Thanks to the decisive actions of the troops, the threat was promptly neutralized, and a comprehensive joint clearance and combing operation is now in its final stages to completely secure the area. The ISPR emphasized its unwavering commitment to eradicating terrorism from the country, irrespective of the costs involved.
Responsibility for the attack was claimed by Tehreek-e-Jihad, an Islamist terror group, according to reports from Pakistan’s media. This incident followed closely on the heels of two separate attacks on security forces in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) region. In the Tirah area of Khyber District, an Intelligence-Based Operation (IBO) took place, leading to an intense exchange of gunfire. One terrorist was killed, and two others were injured and subsequently apprehended by security forces. These individuals were discovered to be in possession of weapons and ammunition, actively engaged in terrorist activities against security forces, and responsible for the targeted killing of innocent civilians in the area, as reported by ARY News.
Additionally, in another tragic incident, an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) exploded in the Sarwekai area of South Waziristan District, resulting in the loss of two soldiers, including Sepoy Banaras Khan, who made the ultimate sacrifice while in the line of duty.
