New Delhi/Srinagar, Nov 15: The massive cache of explosives that detonated at Nowgam police station in Jammu and Kashmir was transported from Faridabad, Haryana, in a Tata 407 pickup truck in small bags, officials confirmed. The accidental blast on Friday night killed nine people and injured 32, occurring while experts were examining the volatile materials.
Authorities said the explosives were seized during raids in Faridabad on November 9-10 and moved to Kashmir following proper protocols. The transfer was necessary because the Nowgam police station was handling the original case related to the “white-collar” terror module.
Investigators are still probing the intended targets of the terror module, which was also linked to the explosive-laden Red Fort attack on November 10 that claimed 13 lives. A senior official said, “All information regarding possible targets remains speculative at this stage.”
The blast underscores the risks involved in handling unstable explosives and has triggered an intensified investigation into the terror network’s activities across multiple states.
