Terrorism Will Never Prevail: Farooq Abdullah on the Neutralization of Pahalgam Attack Perpetrators

Srinagar, July 29: In a strong statement against terrorism, National Conference President and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Dr. Farooq Abdullah said that the neutralization of the terrorists responsible for the gruesome Pahalgam attack is a clear message that terrorism will never achieve its objectives. Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a public function in Srinagar, Abdullah emphasized that such violent ideologies are doomed to fail in the face of national resolve and the bravery of security forces.

“I do not know who they were, nor have I seen them. Only those who encountered them firsthand can confirm their identities. But if they have indeed been neutralized, it is certainly a welcome development. This sends a strong message to those who seek to destabilize peace that terrorism has no future here. It will never succeed,” said the senior leader, reiterating his long-held stance against the use of violence for political ends.

His remarks came shortly after Union Home Minister Amit Shah informed the Lok Sabha that all three terrorists involved in the Pahalgam massacre were killed in a joint operation by the Indian Army, CRPF, and Jammu and Kashmir Police near Srinagar. The operation, codenamed Mahadev, was conducted as part of the broader Operation Sindoor a strategic military response launched on May 7 to target terror infrastructure operating from across the border following the tragic Baisaran Valley killings.

The terrorists eliminated have been identified as Suleman, alias Faizal, Afghani, and Jibran. All three were top operatives of the Pakistan-backed terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba and were designated A-category militants. According to Shah, they were directly involved in the brutal killing of 26 civilians, most of them tourists, during the Baisaran valley attack in the scenic Pahalgam region a tragedy that shook the conscience of the nation.
