Terrorist Attack Claims Life of Civilian in Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir

29-05-2023 : Terrorists opened fire on a civilian from Udhampur in Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir, which resulted in his untimely death. The terrible incident was confirmed by the local police, who added that the victim, Deepu from Udhampur, was employed in an amusement park close to Janglaat Mandi in Anantnag at the time of the incident.

Despite being rushed to the hospital, Deepu could not overcome his injuries and succumbed to them, leaving behind a grieving community. The police promptly launched a search operation to apprehend the culprits responsible for this heinous act. Further investigations into the incident are currently underway to uncover the full details and motives behind the attack.

In a separate operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district, the Jammu and Kashmir Police successfully arrested a terror associate linked to the banned outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). Identified as Mohd Ashraf Mir, a resident of Laridoora Chandoosa, Baramulla, the apprehended individual was taken into custody during a meticulous operation in the Nagbal Chandoosa area.

During the search and subsequent arrest, the police seized a grenade from Mir’s possession, solidifying the charges against him. A case has been registered against the accused at Chandoosa police station under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the Arms Act, ensuring a comprehensive legal response to his involvement with the terror outfit.

The authorities remain committed to maintaining peace and security in the region, diligently pursuing investigations, and taking necessary actions to bring those responsible for such acts of violence to justice.
