Jammu:- The people of Jammu and Kashmir are demanding the democratic process, and statehood,, but the administration of J&K is suppressing the voice of the public with the burden of tax, this is said by President Shiv Sena UT J&K, Manish Sahni
Raising voices against the property tax being imposed by the government, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) Jammu and Kashmir unit leaders today sat on a symbolic hunger strike under the leadership of State President Manish Sahni.
Accusing the administration of dictatorship and arbitrariness, Manish Sahni said that the public asking to fulfill the promises of the restoration of statehood and a democratic system. The public was shown the green fields of employment, development, and peace. But we got unemployment, inflation, recession, and tax burden. The people of Jammu and Kashmir have been facing terrorism for more than three and a half decades, they are unable to get employment. The business has collapsed, and earning is decreasing day by day.
The financial condition of the public is very bad, after the exorbitant increase in electricity and water bills, the public will not be able to bear the burden of property tax. He said that nominal and minimum tax is being claimed, will it be the same in the future as well?
Sahni said that keeping in view the present situation and the plight of the people, under a humanitarian approach, the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir should give relief to the people by issuing instructions to withdraw the decision to impose a property tax. The public should not be forced to take to the streets.
