Jammu, 12-01-2024 : In response to the upcoming consecration ceremony at the Ram temple on January 22, Karan Singh expressed that following the Supreme Court’s Ayodhya judgment, there should be no hesitation in attending the event. Singh, who has received a “beautiful invitation” for the historic pran pratishtha ceremony, conveyed that due to medical reasons, he won’t be able to attend. Emphasizing the significance of the ceremony celebrated by about a billion Hindus worldwide, Singh, a Raghuvanshi himself, expressed regret at the inability to attend but highlighted the family’s Dharmarth Trust organizing a special celebration at Sri Raghunath Temple in Jammu. He mentioned a smaller-scale event at Shri Ram Mandir on Lodhi Road.
Stating his age nearing 93, Singh asserted that, post the Supreme Court judgment, there should be no hesitation in attending the function if invited. In contrast, top Congress leaders, including Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, declined the invitation, accusing the BJP and RSS of politicizing the project. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath are expected to attend the ceremony, with 4,000 seers and 50 guests from foreign countries invited. The BJP, RSS, and affiliated Hindutva organizations have launched a mass connect program, urging people to visit the holy place after the consecration ceremony.
