Jammu, Feb 4: In yet another case of burglary, unidentified thieves broke into a chemist shop near the Police Check Post at Jewel Chowk and fled with ₹45,000 in cash. The incident, which took place on the intervening night of February 3-4, has added to the growing list of thefts in Jammu district over the past few days.
According to reports, the miscreants gained entry through the back door of Perfect Medicos, located just a few steps away from the police post. The theft was discovered the following morning when the shop owner, Deepak, opened the store and found the cash missing. He immediately reported the matter to the Nowabad Police Station.
The sudden rise in burglaries has left shopkeepers and residents deeply concerned, urging law enforcement agencies to step up surveillance and take immediate action to prevent further incidents.
