Tamil Nadu, Feb 11 : Senior Tamil Nadu minister and DMK General Secretary Durai Murugan was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai on Wednesday after experiencing persistent leg pain linked to age related health issues. Medical authorities confirmed that his condition is stable and that he is currently under observation.
The 87 year old leader was taken to Apollo Hospital on Greams Road as a precaution after the discomfort intensified. A team of specialists conducted prompt evaluations upon his arrival and initiated treatment to manage the pain.
Doctors prescribed medication, including pain relievers, and recommended complete rest for the next few days to support recovery. Hospital officials stated that there is no immediate cause for concern and that the minister is responding positively to treatment.
Sources indicated that Murugan remains under continuous medical supervision and could be discharged within a couple of days if his health continues to improve. Senior party leaders have been closely monitoring the situation, while supporters have expressed relief at the reassuring updates.
Widely respected for his decades-long political career, Murugan is considered one of Tamil Nadu’s most seasoned legislators and a key strategist within the DMK.
