JAMMU: Taranjit Singh Tony Chairman of AAP J&K for Administrative Engagement and Minority Affairs and DDC Suchetgarh appreciated the efforts of Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh in initiating a comprehensive battle against the drug menace.
Addressing a program held at Bhour Kulliyan, Chatha today, the senior AAP leader commended the DGP’s directives to seize the properties acquired through drug trade and freeze the bank accounts of drug peddlers. He believed that these measures have the potential to effectively curb the operations of drug cartels in the Union Territory, and thus should be implemented with utmost sincerity.
Tony emphasized that the approach proposed by DGP Dilbag Singh holds great promise in dealing with the drug menace. He urged all stakeholders to act in unison and support these initiatives in order to deter those involved in these illegal activities. He further stressed the need for a comprehensive strategy to tighten the noose around drug suppliers and peddlers, who are responsible for wreaking havoc on society by targeting vulnerable populations with the sale of contraband substances.
Tony applauded the DGP’s suggestion to collect records of drug consumers at the Panchayat and block levels as a means to identify the source of drug supply. He asserted that this proposed plan is practical and calls on stakeholders to waste no time in taking up this cause, considering the gravity and urgency of the situation, especially in securing the future of the youth in the Union Territory.
The senior AAP leader emphasized that it is the prime duty of all stakeholders to protect the youth from the dangerous effects of drugs and provide them with the opportunity to reclaim their lives as productive citizens of the country. He appealed to the general public to lend their support and join hands in eradicating the drug menace from our society.
