JAMMU, July 13: Senior Congress leader and DDC Suchetgarh, Taranjit Singh Tony has urged the administration to take strict action against officials responsible for the poor civic infrastructure in Trikuta Nagar, particularly Ward No. 54.
He made these remarks during his visit to the area following repeated complaints from local residents about the declining state of basic amenities. The meeting was facilitated by prominent youth leader Narinder Sharma (Happy) and witnessed a strong turnout of concerned citizens.
Residents voiced serious grievances including irregular water supply, frequent power outages, dysfunctional street and high-mast lights in public parks, deteriorating road conditions, overflowing drains, and a growing sense of insecurity due to rising theft incidents. They alleged that despite several complaints, the authorities have failed to take corrective action, leaving the locality in neglect.
Expressing concern over the situation, Tony assured residents that he would personally take up the matter with the concerned departments and press for urgent remedial measures. He stated that areas like Trikuta Nagar, which are among the prominent residential localities of Jammu, deserve better attention and timely civic services.
“This kind of administrative apathy is unacceptable. The officials responsible for this negligence must be held accountable. I urge the Chief Secretary to immediately intervene and initiate disciplinary action against those who have failed in their duties,” Tony said.
The senior Congress leader emphasized that development must be inclusive and consistent, and no locality should be made to suffer due to indifference or inefficiency of government machinery. He reaffirmed his commitment to the people of Jammu and urged residents to remain united and vocal in their demand for better governance and infrastructure development.
