Top Teams Set to Compete in Sub-Junior Women’s Hockey Academy Championship in Karnal

17 Teams to Battle for Top Honours in 3rd Hockey India Sub-Junior Women’s Academy Championship

India, Nov 15 : Karnal, Haryana, is set to host the 3rd Hockey India Sub-Junior Women’s Academy Championship 2025 (Zone A & B) at the Kailash Hockey Stadium from November 15 to 23, bringing together the country’s most promising young hockey talents.
A total of 17 teams from leading academies across India will compete in the prestigious grassroots tournament. The teams have been divided into four pools:

Pool A: Roundglass Punjab Hockey Club Academy, Citizen Hockey XI, Sports Authority of Gujarat Hockey Academy, Vadipatti Raja Hockey Academy, Pritam Siwach Sports Promotion Foundation

Pool B: HAR Hockey Academy, Ritu Rani Hockey Academy, Hockey Family Badhkhalsa NCR Hockey Society, Tamil Nadu Hockey Academy

Pool C: Anantapur Sports Academy, Jai Bharat Hockey Academy, Jude Felix Hockey Academy, Sports Hockey Academy of Khalsa’s Kolkata

Pool D: R K Roy Hockey Academy, Khalsa Hockey Academy (Amritsar), Markandeshwar Hockey Academy, Raja Karan Hockey Academy

Teams will play in a round-robin format, earning 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw, and none for a loss. The winners of each pool will advance to the semifinals on November 22, followed by the 3rd/4th place match and the final scheduled for November 23.
Hockey India President Dr. Dilip Tirkey highlighted the championship’s importance in developing future stars of Indian women’s hockey.
“These young players are the future of Indian women’s hockey, and tournaments like this give them the competitive exposure they need early in their development,” he said.
Echoing the sentiment, Hockey India Secretary-General Bhola Nath Singh added, “This championship strengthens our grassroots structure and provides a vital platform for girls aspiring to represent India in the future.”
The event promises high intensity competition and a showcase of emerging talent from across the country.
