03-06-2023 : The authorities of the Traffic and Motor Vehicle Department are urging vehicle owners to ensure that their mobile phone numbers are updated on the VAHAN portal. They have noticed that a significant number of registered owners have not linked their mobile numbers with the VAHAN database, resulting in them not receiving important information regarding traffic violations. This has led to complaints from the public, who claim that they haven’t received any messages regarding traffic violations, leading to their vehicles being locked by the RTO Jammu.
To prevent such issues in the future, the general public is requested to visit www.parivahan.gov.in and update or link their functional contact numbers on the VAHAN Portal within 10 days of the publication of this press release. This action is essential to avoid any inconvenience. The Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) also emphasizes the mandatory nature of updating the valid mobile numbers of registered vehicle owners on the VAHAN portal. Doing so enables effective tracking of registration-related services, e-challaning, and blacklisting of vehicles, ultimately benefiting the general public.
