JAMMU, Mar 31: In the tragic Jammu drowning incident, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives after three teenagers were swept away by strong currents in the Tawi river near Nagrota.
The incident occurred on Sunday evening near Sainik School Nagrota, where Bavish Koul (15), Sonam Dutt (16), and Aditya Pandit (15) were caught in the river’s powerful flow. Rescue teams have recovered the bodies of Koul and Pandit, while efforts are ongoing to locate the third missing boy.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha reviewed the situation with senior officials and assessed the ongoing search and rescue operations. Expressing his grief, he conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, stating that the loss of young lives is deeply painful and assuring solidarity with those affected.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also expressed anguish over the tragedy. In a message shared on X, he extended his sympathies to the families and prayed for strength and comfort for them during this difficult time.
Authorities, including police and rescue agencies, continue their search operations in the river as the region mourns the untimely loss of young lives.
