Tripura, Sep 18 : The Tripura government has launched an initiative to provide free Artificial Intelligence courses to students studying in government schools across the state, giving young learners an opportunity to develop skills in one of the fastest growing areas of technology.
Under the AI Utsav Skill Competition 2026, students from Classes 6 to 12 across all eight districts of Tripura will receive access to AI learning courses through the Skill India Digital Hub. The programme is designed to introduce students to artificial intelligence at an early stage while strengthening their digital and technology related skills.
Students who successfully complete the courses will be able to download a national certificate through the Skill India Digital Hub. The certification is intended to provide formal recognition of the skills acquired through the programme.
The initiative also includes a skill competition component aimed at encouraging students to explore emerging technologies and apply their knowledge in practical ways. Officials said the programme seeks to build digital confidence among students and prepare them for a technology-driven future.
The introduction of AI education at the school level reflects the growing focus on equipping students with emerging technology skills. By making the courses available to government school students across the state, the programme seeks to expand access to digital learning opportunities beyond traditional classroom subjects.
The initiative is expected to encourage students to develop an early understanding of artificial intelligence and explore its potential applications in education, technology and future careers.
