The Special Powers Abuse Committee of the Assembly issued two notices to Arnab
Mumbai, 06 November:  The troubles of TV journalist Arnab Goswami are increasing. On Friday, the Special Powers Abuse Committee of the Assembly issued two notices to Arnab Goswami. The committee has asked Arnab Goswami to present his case in this matter.
Assembly Speaker Nana Patole said that Arnab Goswami had been issued notice earlier by the Special Powers Abuse Committee but Arnab had not responded to them. The action of violation of special rights remains confidential and the matter will be communicated to journalists later. Arnab Goswami used derogatory words against Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and the Home Minister. Therefore, Shiv Sena MLA Pratap Sarnaik had proposed a violation of special rights against Arnab Goswami. The hearing of this proposal has been started on Friday under the chairmanship of former Home Minister and Shiv Sena MLA Deepak Kesarkar.
It is noteworthy that Arnab Goswami was arrested by Raigad police in the Anvay Naik and Kumud Naik suicide cases and sent them to judicial custody till 18 November by the Magistrate Court. However, Raigad Police had sought police custody of Arnab Goswami from the Magistrate Court. This order of Raigad Magistrate has been challenged by the Raigad Police in the Sessions Court, on which hearing is to be held on 7 November. Arnab’s lawyer Ebad Ponda had sought interim bail denying Arnab’s arrest, but the High Court has issued a notice to make Anvay Naik’s daughter a defendant in the case. At the same time, the lawyer of the state government has also been asked to present his case in court.
