PUDUCHERRY: The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) on Sunday unveiled its candidates for all 30 constituencies in the upcoming Puducherry Assembly elections, confirming that it will contest independently.
The party’s list includes a mix of fresh faces and experienced leaders, with two women candidates fielded from Mangalam and Kadirkamam constituencies in the Puducherry region.
Among the prominent nominees is A K Sai J Saravanan Kumar, who will contest from the Thirubhuvanai reserved seat after recently quitting the Bharatiya Janata Party following denial of a ticket.
The lineup also features former All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) legislators K A U Asana and L Periyasamy, who have been fielded from Karaikal (South) and Nettapakkam constituencies respectively.
In addition, former Puducherry BJP unit chief V Saminathan will contest from Lawspet, while retired senior police officer V J Chandran and ex-Congress legislator N Dhanavelou are also among the candidates.
By announcing its complete slate, TVK has signalled its intent to mount a full-scale electoral challenge, banking on a combination of political experience and new entrants to strengthen its prospects in the Union Territory.
