Police recover firearm, live rounds and posters during naka checking near Baba Dem area

Srinagar, May 12: Police on Monday detained two individuals after recovering arms, ammunition and suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) material during a naka checking operation in Srinagar, officials said.
According to officials, a police team intercepted a motorcycle carrying two persons near the Baba Dem locality during routine checking. During the search operation, officers recovered a pistol, three magazines, 21 live cartridges, two mobile phones and 10 LeT posters from their possession.
Police identified the accused as Faisal Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Malpora Habba Kadal, and Faisal Ahmad Guroo of Rajouri Kadal.
An FIR under relevant sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and Arms Act has been registered, while further investigation into the case is underway, officials added.
