Two Suspected ISIS Operatives Nabbed in Delhi-Jharkhand Joint Operation

Coordinated raids in Delhi and Ranchi lead to the capture of ISIS-linked suspects planning terror activities in India.

New Delhi, Sep 10: In a joint operation, Delhi Police’s Special Cell, Jharkhand Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), and Ranchi police have arrested two suspected ISIS operatives, officials said on Wednesday.

The prime accused, Ashar Danish, a native of Bokaro, was apprehended from Ranchi. He was wanted in a case registered by the Delhi Police Special Cell concerning an ISIS-linked module.

Another suspect, identified as Aftab, was arrested from Delhi during a simultaneous coordinated operation.

Preliminary investigations indicate that both suspects were in contact with other members of an ISIS-inspired network and were engaged in activities aimed at advancing the terror group’s agenda in India. Danish had been under surveillance by security agencies for several months.
