U.S. State Department Urges Americans to Leave Large Parts of Middle East Immediately

State Department advises immediate commercial departures from 14 countries following military strikes on Iran

US, Marc  03 : The United States government on Monday issued an urgent travel advisory, calling on its citizens to leave a broad stretch of the Middle East amid escalating security risks after American and Israeli strikes on Iran.

Mora Namdar, Assistant Secretary of State for Consular Affairs, said in a statement posted on X that Americans should “depart now” from 14 countries in the region using available commercial transportation. Authorities have not announced organized evacuation flights, instead urging travelers to rely on existing airline services despite widespread disruptions to air travel.

The advisory covers nations from Egypt eastward, including several Gulf monarchies that host U.S. military personnel. Although these countries have long promoted stability and positioned themselves as major business and transit hubs, heightened tensions have raised concerns about potential retaliatory attacks.

Egypt, which maintains complex diplomatic ties with Tehran, was also included in the warning even though it has not reported significant direct fallout from the recent hostilities.

In addition, Washington advised citizens to leave Israel, the Palestinian territories, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria, where the conflict has had direct or indirect security implications.

Officials emphasized that Americans in affected areas should monitor local developments closely and arrange departures as soon as safely possible.
