She met with Sanjay Verma, Secretary (West) under the Ministry of External Affairs, to discuss bilateral engagements and cooperation going forward. Dzhaparova updated Verma on Ukraine’s efforts to fight Russian unprovoked aggression and invited India to join President Zelenskyy’s PeaceFormula & GrainFromUkraine initiative. She highlighted the importance of having India on board and expressed her hope that India and Ukraine would become closer physically and politically.
Speaking to the press, Dzhaparova suggested that India should be pragmatic in diversifying its energy resources, military contracts, and political interaction. She added that Ukraine has never attacked anyone like India and is the victim of an unprovoked and neocolonial war. As part of her visit, Dzhaparova also planned to meet with Meenakshi Lekhi, Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture, and Vikram Misri, Deputy National Security Advisor.
