NEW DELHI, Jun 10: The Union Cabinet on Wednesday adopted a resolution congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi after he achieved a historic milestone by becoming India’s longest-serving continuously elected Prime Minister.
During a Cabinet meeting, ministers lauded Modi’s leadership and marked the occasion with a standing ovation, acknowledging his uninterrupted tenure at the helm of the country since 2014.
The achievement places Modi ahead of India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, in terms of continuous service as an elected head of government. Cabinet members described the milestone as a significant moment in the country’s democratic journey.
