UP, Feb 07 : The Uttar Pradesh government has issued revised guidelines for the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations scheduled to begin on February 18, introducing key changes aimed at ensuring a safer and more transparent examination process.
One of the major updates eliminates the requirement for students to remove their shoes and socks during frisking. The decision follows past complaints from students and parents regarding discomfort and inappropriate checking procedures. Authorities have also mandated that only female staff will conduct frisking of girl students to maintain privacy and dignity.
To prevent misconduct and enhance supervision, all examination centres will be monitored through CCTV cameras with audio recording. Officials have directed that the footage be stored for at least 30 days for review if needed.
The guidelines further prohibit teachers and staff from carrying mobile phones or any digital devices inside the exam premises. Such items must be deposited outside the centres before entry.
In view of concerns over malpractice, 20 districts have been identified as highly sensitive. Examination centres in these districts will undergo two inspections on the day of the test, and select locations will be equipped with signal jammers to deter cheating.
The new measures reflect the state’s effort to conduct the UP Board Exams 2026 in a secure, fair, and student-friendly environment.
