Largest recruitment drive in state’s history to boost Police, Education, Revenue, and other departments

Lucknow, Dec 19: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has approved the recruitment of 1.5 lakh government jobs across various departments in 2026, following a review of vacant posts and directives to officials for department-wise details.

Officials said the Police and Education departments will see the largest share of appointments, with 50,000 posts each, followed by 20,000 vacancies in the Revenue department. Additional recruitments will take place in Housing Development, Health, Child Development, Nutrition, and Prisons.

“This initiative will be the largest in the state’s history and will help the government achieve the milestone of 10 lakh government jobs in 10 years,” an official statement said. So far, over 8.5 lakh jobs have been provided in the last 8.5 years under the Yogi administration, all through transparent recruitment processes, boosting confidence among the state’s youth.

In detail, the Police Department will recruit 30,000 constables, 5,000 sub-inspectors, and 15,000 personnel in other categories. The Education Department will fill around 50,000 posts ranging from assistant teachers to lecturers and principals. The Revenue Department will primarily hire 20,000 personnel for the post of Lekhpal.

Recruitment advertisements are in the final stages of preparation, and some departments have already initiated processes. This massive drive is expected to solidify the Yogi government’s record of creating 10 lakh government jobs over a decade, marking a historic boost in employment opportunities for Uttar Pradesh’s youth.
