22-05-2023 : Ghulam Nabi Azad, the chairman of the Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP), rallied party workers on Monday, emphasizing the need to prepare for the upcoming elections and urging the people to mobilize against divisive and communal forces. He called upon the citizens to uphold brotherhood and religious harmony and engage in constructive politics that will bring about a new era of peace and development in the Union Territory.
Azad expressed confidence that when the elections for the assembly, panchayats, and local bodies in Jammu and Kashmir take place, the DPAP will emerge as one of the largest political parties. He conveyed this message while addressing party workers in Changa, located in the Doda district. He stressed the importance of the people awakening to counter divisive and communal forces, instead opting to vote for the advancement of development, peace, and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir.
Reflecting on his tenure as the former chief minister of the erstwhile state, Azad highlighted his efforts in building infrastructure, approving colleges, hospitals, schools, and road networks to connect the region with the rest of the country. He expressed his desire to serve the people once again, stating that if given another opportunity, the Chenab Valley would become a thriving center for economic and educational activities.
