UPKL Season 2 Day 2 Sees Thrilling Finishes and Dominant Victories

Awadh Ramdoots edge Kanpur Warriors in one-point thriller; Kashi Kings and Lucknow Lions register commanding victories

UP, Dec 27 : The second day of Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi League (UPKL) Season 2 at the Noida Indoor Stadium delivered a mix of nail-biting finishes and commanding performances, highlighting the league’s growing competitiveness and high quality action.

The day kicked off with a dramatic clash as Awadh Ramdoots narrowly defeated Kanpur Warriors 35-34. Kanpur held a 17-15 halftime lead after a late super raid by Sushant, but Awadh’s captain Abhimanyu Raghuvanshi led a determined second-half comeback, with the defence holding firm to snatch a one point victory.

In contrast, Kashi Kings dominated Ganga Kings of Mirzapur 52-30, asserting control throughout the match. Raiders and defenders shone, with Arjun Sirohi named Raider of the Match and Vipul Chaudhary earning Best Defender honours after a series of critical all outs.

Defending champions Lucknow Lions continued their strong run with a convincing 40-21 win over Purvanchal Panthers. Arjun Deshwal led the charge with a super raid, helping the Lions secure a 20-8 halftime lead, while timely super tackles from the team maintained their dominance in the second half. Deshwal finished with nine raid points and three tackle points, while Mohd Aman recorded seven tackle points as Defender of the Match.

The final encounter saw Aligarh Tigers overcome Sangam Challengers 42-32. Despite Sangam’s strong start and early all-out, Aligarh’s raiders Kunal Bhati and Anuj maintained pressure, supported by crucial defensive plays from Vashu and Akshya Rathi, with a late super raid from Vinay Tewatia sealing the win.

Kabaddi action continues on Saturday at the Noida Indoor Stadium, featuring Yamuna Yoddhas vs Gazab Ghaziabad, Kanpur Warriors vs Ganga Kings, Noida Ninjas vs Awadh Ramdoots, and Aligarh Tigers vs Kashi Kings, with matches starting from 5:00 PM.
