UT-Level Security Conference Convened in Jammu to Review Law and Order Situation

First ever UT level meet brings top police, paramilitary and intelligence officials together to review security challenges in J&K

Jammu, Dec 18: A Union Territory level security conference, chaired by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, commenced on Thursday in Jammu to comprehensively review the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.

The two day conference, being held at the IIT campus in Jagti on the outskirts of Jammu, is the first such UT-level meet organised on the lines of the annual Directors General of Police (DGPs) and Inspectors General of Police (IGPs) conference.

The meeting is being attended by Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, senior IGPs from the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Border Security Force (BSF) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), along with senior intelligence officials and other top security functionaries.

Officials said the conference will deliberate on all critical aspects of internal security, including counter-terror operations, border management, intelligence coordination and law-and-order preparedness across the Union Territory.
