KATRA, May 4: The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine witnessed a sharp increase in pilgrim arrivals over the weekend, with thousands of devotees visiting the revered cave shrine in Reasi district.
Officials said improved weather conditions and ongoing holiday travel contributed to the surge in footfall, prompting authorities to strengthen crowd management and security arrangements along the pilgrimage route.
Medical camps, drinking water stations, and sanitation services were expanded to assist devotees undertaking the yatra.
The Shrine Board stated that additional personnel have been deployed to ensure smooth movement and safety of pilgrims during the busy travel period.
