Katra, Oct 8: The Vaishno Devi Yatra has resumed today after being suspended for three days due to heavy rainfall and adverse weather conditions in the Trikuta Hills region.
The pilgrimage was halted on October 5 as a precautionary measure following an inclement weather advisory issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) had temporarily suspended the Yatra from October 5 to 7 to ensure the safety of devotees amid fears of landslides and thunderstorms.
With weather conditions improving, authorities have reopened all routes leading to the holy shrine. Officials confirmed that the tracks have been cleared and all necessary safety arrangements are in place for a smooth resumption of the pilgrimage.
“Yatra has resumed smoothly, and devotees are being allowed to proceed towards the Bhawan,” Shrine Board officials said, assuring that continuous monitoring of the situation is underway.
Pilgrims expressed relief and gratitude as they once again embark on their spiritual journey to seek the blessings of Mata Vaishno Devi. Authorities have advised devotees to remain cautious, follow official updates, and adhere to all safety advisories during their visit.
