New Delhi, Feb 14: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan on Saturday paid tribute to the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel who were killed in the 2019 Pulwama terror attack, marking six years since the incident that shook the nation.
In a message shared on X, the Prime Minister remembered the fallen soldiers, stating that their courage, dedication and service continue to inspire every Indian and remain deeply embedded in the country’s collective memory.
The Vice President also honoured the 40 CRPF personnel who lost their lives, describing their sacrifice as eternal and a guiding force in strengthening India’s resolve against terrorism.
On February 14, 2019, a suicide bomber rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into a convoy bus carrying CRPF personnel in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district, resulting in one of the deadliest attacks on Indian security forces.
In response, India carried out the Balakot airstrike days later, targeting terror infrastructure across the border.
The anniversary is observed across the country as a solemn reminder of the sacrifice made by the security personnel in the line of duty.
