Vijay Launches Campaign Committee for TN Assembly Polls

TVK founder Vijay appoints senior leaders to coordinate party strategy across all 234 constituencies, preparing for a direct contest with DMK.

Tamil Nadu, Jan 17 : Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) President and actor turned politician Vijay has constituted a 10-member campaign committee as the party prepares for its first electoral test in the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. The committee will oversee campaign coordination across all 234 constituencies in the state.

The high-level body, comprising senior party leaders, will work closely with district and Assembly segment teams to strategize election activities, strengthen party affairs, and mobilize cadre support. Vijay has framed the upcoming polls as a direct contest between TVK and the ruling DMK, which he identifies as his political rival.

Key members of the committee include TVK General Secretary N. Bussy Anand, Additional General Secretary of Election Campaign Management Aadhav Arjuna, and former AIADMK Minister K.A. Sengottaiyan, who has been appointed Chief Coordinator of TVK’s administrative committee. Sengottaiyan recently joined TVK after being expelled from AIADMK for advocating unity and re-induction of ousted leaders.

Vijay stated that the campaign committee will coordinate all poll-related activities, including rallies he addresses, voter outreach, and constituency-level preparations. The committee’s formation follows the creation of a 10-member manifesto drafting group, which has been touring Assembly segments to gather public opinion and recommend issues for the party manifesto.

TVK has urged all its cadres to extend full cooperation to the campaign committee to ensure a well-organized election effort across Tamil Nadu.
