Violation of Democratic Values in Delaying Assembly Elections in Jammu and Kashmir, says DPAP

DPAP Seeks Government Intervention and Compensation for Farmers Affected by Extensive Rains

Jammu, May 4: The Democratic Progressive Azad Party’s General Secretary RS Chib expressed his disappointment over the delay in Assembly elections and said that depriving people of their elected representatives tantamount to violating democratic values.

He said that violating democratic values doesn’t augur well for a country like India which has a rich history of democracy.

However, Chib directed his party members to intensify the membership drive, and by the time elections in Jammu and Kashmir are held, DPAP shall emerge as one of the largest political parties in the UT.

“Our district presidents must visit extensively to their respective areas and intensify the drive of membership,” he said while chairing office bearers meeting in Jammu.

Meanwhile, Chib sought the intervention of the government and adequate compensation to the farmers who lost their wheat crop in extensive rains.

“ The farmers who are affected have lost the crucial crop of the year. The worst affected are the farmers living in border areas who have no other source of income. They need fully to be compensated,” Chib said.

Jugal Kishore Sharma Provincial President directed all District  Presidents to Chalk out the tour programme of their Districts in consultation with the Zonal presidents in order to create awareness regarding the mission of our Party He also stressed upon them to make Party offices in their Districts functional in order to address the issues raised by people from time to time.
