20-05-2023 : In a significant development, the Chief Education Officer (CEO) of Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir has taken strict action by suspending two government teachers who were found teaching at a private coaching center. This move comes in response to multiple online and offline complaints received by the department, as well as findings from designated monitoring teams.
The order issued by the Chief Education Officer states that the teachers were found conducting private coaching at SCI Pulwama on May 18, which is a clear violation of service rules and repeated directions from the department to refrain from such practices. In light of this, pending a thorough inquiry into the matter, the two teachers have been placed under suspension with immediate effect. However, they have been instructed to report to the respective institutions mentioned in the order for further duties.
According to the order, one of the suspended teachers, who is currently posted at HS Singhoo Narbal, has been directed to report to GUPS Shadimarg. Meanwhile, the other suspended teacher, who is posted in GHS Rajpora, has been instructed to report to HS Doodimargh Lurgam.
Furthermore, it is emphasized in the order that the suspended teachers are considered relieved of their current duties and are required to report to their new assigned places by the end of the day, ensuring compliance with the directives.
This action against the teachers highlights the commitment of the education department in upholding the integrity of the teaching profession and ensuring that teachers focus solely on their responsibilities within the government education system. Such measures serve to maintain the quality and standard of education in Jammu and Kashmir, as well as to instill discipline and professionalism among the teaching fraternity.
