30-03-2022: GDC Dudu Basantgarh, under Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP), organized a Debate Competition on the topic “My Vote is My Future”. The main objective of the programme was to aware the students of their voting rights and the importance of casting vote in a democratic country like India.

Many students shared their views regarding the value of the vote and its prerequisite need to build a country on the basis of democratic principles such as equality in opportunity, freedom of speech, and choice-based electoral decision of voters. On the basis of precision and overall delivery of content, Varinder Singh of Sem-5th got the first position, Ranjeet Singh of Sem-2nd secured 2nd position, and Shabnam Bano of Sem-5th clinched the 3rd spot.
While enlightening the students and shedding light on the value of the voting system and its power to decide our future, the worthy principal of the college Dr Bhavnaish Chand advised the students to participate in every electoral process whether it is Panchayat, Assembly or Parliament elections. It is only through elections that we can decide our future course of action. We really need to sensitize the illiterate and uneducated masses of our country so that they can also decide who should represent them in decision making and policy implementation processes.
Prof. Rahul Sharma, Prof. Pradeep Kumar Kundal, and Dr Mudasir Ahmad played the role of jury members. The other staff members who also attended the programme were Dr PP Singh, Dr Ravi Kumar, Prof. Aastha Gupta and Prof. Nazir Ahmad. The vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Vijay Kumar who also supervised the overall conduct of the programme.
