VP Radhakrishnan Honours ITBP’s 64 Years of Courage and Service on Raising Day

New Delhi, Oct 24 : Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan on Thursday extended his heartfelt greetings to the Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) on their 64th Raising Day, commending the force’s steadfast dedication to protecting India’s borders.

“On ITBP Raising Day, I salute the brave heroes of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police who stand as the first line of defence along our Himalayan frontiers,” Radhakrishnan posted on X.

He praised the ITBP’s continuous vigilance, humanitarian service, and unwavering commitment, highlighting how their discipline and courage inspire national pride and confidence. “Since its inception, ITBP has exemplified courage, discipline and dedication in safeguarding our nation’s borders and people,” he added.

Established on October 24, 1962, following the India-China war, the ITBP guards the 3,488 km long Line of Actual Control (LAC) and has played a crucial role in ensuring national security. Beyond border protection, the force has participated in humanitarian missions and disaster relief operations, earning widespread recognition for their service.

The Vice-President’s message underscores the ITBP’s exceptional contributions to India’s safety and security, honoring their valor and commitment that continues to inspire the nation.
