RAJOURI, FEBRUARY 17: Continuing the endeavour to reach out to the public at the grassroots level and to listen to their grievances at their doorsteps, District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan on Wednesday held a public outreach camp cum public durbar here at Nowshera as part of Weekly Block Diwas.
The BDC Chairperson Nowshera, Bodh Raj; BDC Chairperson Qila Darhal, Khaliq Ahmed; President MC Nowshera, Narinder Sharma; DDC Member Seri, Sangeeta Sharma; DDC Member Nowshera Dr Manohar Singh; Sarpanches,Panches, and people from all walks of life thronged the Public outreach camp and projected number of demanded and issues.
The Grievance Camp witnessed an overwhelming response of people from adjoining areas including Nowshera, Rajal, Lamberi, Seri, Deeing, Bhawani Langer, Kalsian, Nonial, Sair Makri, and other areas. They projected a number of developmental demands and issues of their areas including inadequate water supply, sought macadamization and renovation of roads, up-gradation of schools, better health services, besides related issues were raised during the programme.
Specific issues raised during the programme included sanctioning of additional bunkers, sanctioning of a sub-divisional revenue complex, construction of a bridge between Bagnoti and Babbar, a bridge at Dhakka, sanctioning of additional transformers, electricity poles, and repairing the old transformers to meet the shortage of power supply, sanctioning of additional handpumps to meet the scarcity of water.
The other issues included the start of work on PHC at Sair Makri, repair and renovation of First Aid Centre at Bhatta, up-gradation of some schools, sanctioning of a Veterinary centre at every village, double laning of the road from Nowshera to Jhangar, cent per cent saturation of the subdivision under Ayushman and other centrally sponsored schemes of the Government, completion of work on water supply scheme at Chowki Handan, etc.
The Public also demanded proper implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission in the subdivision, sanctioning of funds for the repair and renovation of the existing roads, inclusion of eligible beneficiaries under BPL, delay in the payment of MGNREGA works, sanctioning of funds under BADP, upgradation of middle school Sair to High school etc.
Other issues like the opening of sectoral offices at block Qila Darhal, construction of a community hall at Panchayat Qila Darhal, sanctioning of funds under TSP, sanctioning of a milk collection centre at Lam, the inclusion of left out roads under PMGSY Phase-IV, upgradation of High School Bagla to Higher Secondary were also projected on the occasion.
Some more issues like sanctioning of a state board branch at Nowshera, establishment of a city park, repair and maintenance of roads within the municipal limits of the town, repairing of a road from Chowki to Gania, up-gradation of middle school Chowki Handan and High school Langer, sanctioning of a PHC between Chowki Handan to Nowshera, start of work on the power receiving station at Seri, blacktopping of the road from Gujjar Mohra to Khiari were also raised.
Special recruitment drive for the youth of the border belt, filling of potholes on roads, liability in Mid Day meal, paucity of staff in HS Khairi,PS Ghai, Tehsil status to Bhawani, construction of road from Bawani to Laroka, road from Dhanka to Maanpur, illegal attachment of health staff, old age and widow pensions, construction of a playground at Panchayat Hanjana,
The DDC gave a patient hearing to all the issues and demands projected on the occasion and issued on-the-spot directions to the concerned officers for the early redressal of the same. He said that the District Administration Rajouri has launched Lokmitra initiative in the district to ensure better implementation of Government schemes on the ground level and also to ensure time-bound redress of public grievances.
To ensure the proper maintenance of the old handpumps in the district, the DDC informed that instructions have been passed on to the concerned authorities for the repairing of 120 handpumps and the work in this regard will be completed at the earliest.
Regarding the issue of illegal attachment of the staff of the health institutions, the DDC directed the Chief Medical Officer to initiate inquiry regarding the matter and submit report within two days.
To ensure better internal connectivity, the DDC assured that necessary steps shall be taken in this regard. He also told that as many as 15 to 16 works which were withheld in the past for more than ten years have been started and assured that no developmental works shall be withheld in the district unnecessary.
