As Prime Minister Narendra Modi prepares for his state visit to the United States later this month, the White House sees it as an opportunity to reaffirm the deep and close partnership between the two countries.
John Kirby, Coordinator for Strategic Communications at the National Security Council in the White House, addressed reporters during a news conference and expressed confidence in India’s democratic institutions. He stated that anyone visiting New Delhi would witness the vibrancy of India’s democracy and that the strength and health of these institutions would undoubtedly be part of the discussions during the visit.
Kirby emphasized the importance of open dialogue with friends, acknowledging that expressing concerns is a natural aspect of any strong friendship.
