Women serve vital roles both inside and beyond the home in every community. The status and position of women are the best indicators of a country’s socio-economic progress. Half of the world’s population is made up of women. Women’s empowerment is a vital component of poverty eradication through remunerative and non-remunerative activity at home, in the community, and at work.
The increase in women’s status, positions, and decision-making authority in the family and society is linked to their participation in income-generating activities. As more women entrepreneurs emerge, taking an active role in the nation’s economic development, making women more productive and training them in modern lines where they may succeed in their abilities can lessen their reliance and strengthen their position.
Women make up roughly half of the world’s population. As a result, they are considered the better half of society. Women in previous Indian communities were limited to the four walls of their homes, performing domestic tasks. However, as societies have advanced, people have come out of their four walls to engage in a variety of activities. Women have consistently outperformed men in several fields such as academia, politics, administration, and social work, according to research from around the world. They have now moved into the industry and are successfully running their businesses.
Women nowadays are an active part of society, undertaking a wide range of functions and responsibilities, and shouldering males at every stage. They are active participants in the country’s progress and contribute to it. Women are an important part of any business and even the industry’s workforce. They are now entering professions that were previously thought to be exclusively male-dominated.
They share the burden of man responsibly. Entrepreneurship is an art form that some people are born with or must cultivate in order to be successful in any business they choose and pursue to its apex. Local entrepreneurship’s strength and health, as well as the rate at which it germinates and grows, are all influenced by economic development. With the growth of science and technology in recent years, there has been some shift in gender duties. Not only men, but a rising number of women have emerged to participate in the nation’s economic operations.
Despite the fact that entrepreneurship and business, in general, have long been dominated by men, the landscape is fast shifting. Women are not only establishing more firms than men, but they are launching them in non-traditional industries with big growth and profit goals. They exhibit several desired and relevant characteristics for entrepreneurship development, such as the capacity to manage a business, commitment to the work they do, tolerance, and generosity toward others. Women, it is said, are better at facing danger and absorbing tragedies than males. The emergence of women as a viable economic force, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir, is a significant development in women’s emancipation, securing for them a permanent place in our society, a society that can serve the larger community by opening new vistas for educated, unemployed, needy, and desirous women.
Furthermore, the active involvement of women in economic enterprises should herald in a new era of ethical commercial practices. Women in J&K start businesses not only to obtain financial independence but also to break free from family subordination. Business is the best employment for women since it allows them to use their creativity, generate extra money for the family, keep self-respect, and work flexible hours. Women have the ability to lead the country down a path of progress and prosperity. Women may undoubtedly be effective change agents for better households, a better society, and, ultimately, a strong economy. With the advancement of technology and the business environment, women are now advancing and becoming a big economic force.
Today’s women make significant contributions to the advancement of civilization. This economic force must not be overlooked. It is critical that both men and women engage in the nation’s progress in order for the economy to grow quickly. Women’s entrepreneurship is a powerful instrument for empowering women. Access to resources and the market, control of resources, actual ownership, and the authority to make and act on decisions are all important components of women’s empowerment. In a country like India, where there is such a large population and unemployment, entrepreneurship can be the most effective tool for women to get empowerment.
Men and women are the two wheels that makeup society. Both men and women have a right to participate in the formation of a nation. The times have changed, and gone are the days when a guy might be capable of nurturing his entire family. As a result, it is critical to recognize and honour the entrepreneurial spirit and mindset that underpins disadvantaged people’s survival and livelihood tactics. It’s also critical to cultivate and promote the spirit of self-reliance by targeting entrepreneurial support services, programs, and legislation to people on the verge of economic extinction.
