UDHAMPUR, NOVEMBER 19: Department of Rural Development today organised a Swachatta run/ rally at block Tikri to mark the observance of World Toilet Day.
BDC, Chairperson, Nisha Sharma; DDC member Ashu; Additional District Development Commissioner, Anu Behl; Assistant Commissioner Development, Dr Ranjeet Kotwal; BDO Tikri, Shivana Akhtar and all PRI members participated in the program.
Apart from Swacchtta run/ rally, a series of other activities including Symposium, awareness skits, songs on proper disposal of plastic and other waste, importance of handwashing and sanitation were also held during the event.
Addressing the gathering, the ADDC appreciated the efforts put in by RDD for organizing this event and sensitizing the general public regarding the importance of cleanliness and hygiene. She expressed her satisfaction and said that models prepared and presented by students show the level of understanding and awareness regarding ill effects of plastic. “The dedication of these students will definitely bring positive results against the use of plastic,” she added.
